The "Disconnect" Palette from my small cosmetic business. 50% of the profits from this palette were donated to various mental health organizations (the Trevor Project, NAMI, and Active Minds)
The picture on the left is a picture of myself and other soloists (not all pictured) standing up at the end of the concert to receive recognition for our solo performances. We played Arturo Marquez' "Danzon No. 2" as well as several other outstanding pieces during this performance.
As I have stated in my "about me" page, I greatly value self-care and mental health. Personal activities, such as Taekwondo and playing the flute are forms of exercise that allow me to destress. Another destressing activity for me is spending time with my dog. Whenever I go take my dog, Ahsoka, on a walk, I feel rejuvenated and happier. Having these hobbies and practicing my skills also allow me to better focus on my health and my wellbeing so that I can provide my clients better care. In addition, drawing and putting on makeup are also forms of destressing for me. By making my mental and physical health a priority, I am able to limit my anxiety, stress, and burnout.
My professional goal is to become a competent nurse that is highly specialized in my field. When I was in middle school, my mother had a huge accident on the freeway. Her car railed off the highway and flipped around 8 times. She was carried to the hospital by amazing flight nurses and flight paramedics, and eventually made a full recovery. Her head was split open and we were told if she came just a minute later, she may have been brain dead. My dream is to become a flight nurse or a critical care nurse who saves people's lives and makes a difference in someone's world.
